This article addresses how to create a typical Unpaid Bills report, but with the corresponding Purchase Order number information on it, in QuickBooks Online.
To review, a simple Unpaid Bills report displays all of the unpaid vendor bills with remaining balances, this report is sorted by vendor name.
However, a typical Unpaid Bills report does NOT automatically display the associated purchase order number within it; this is something you can manually create however, just by customizing a few fields within a typical Unpaid Bills report.
Before we get started on creating this customized report, you must first be sure that the purchase order number is being manually entered within each bill’s Memo field. You can do this within QuickBooks Online and also within Bill.com as well.
After this is verified, then you can proceed with creating this customized report by doing the following:
- Open your Reports function within QuickBooks Online.
- Find the Unpaid Bills report and open this.
- Be sure all of the Dates are selected (All Dates) in the Report period.
- Now click on “Customize”
- Click on “Change Columns” and, for starters, set your columns to the following:
- Date
- Transaction Type
- Num (this is the Bill number field)
- Due Date
- Open Balance
- Memo/Description
- Now click on “Run Report”.
- To save this exact report for future usage, click on “Save Customization”.
