How to View Reconciliation Report in QuickBooks Online

This article addresses how to find and review your Reconciliation reports in QuickBooks Online.

 

Perhaps for audit reasons, you may need to pull up a banking reconciliation report for the auditor to review. This is done very simply in QuickBooks Online; it also helps that you know how to review a reconciliation report as well so you can decipher exactly what was reconciled within a given statement period of time.

 

So, to begin:

 

  1. Go to your reports section within QuickBooks Online
  2. Type in “Reconciliation” within the “Find report by name” search box and then click on the corresponding selection that comes up.
    1. If at this time, instead you see a screen that states “Match the books to the bank records”, just click on the Get Started green button.
  3. Now you will see a screen that states “History by account”.
  4. Be sure to choose the proper Account and Report period.
  5. If you have been completing your banking reconciliations, say on a monthly basis, you will now see all of your past reconciliations that tell you:
    1. Statement Ending Date
    2. Reconciled On (the actual date the reconciliation work was performed)
    3. Ending Balance
    4. Any changes that have been made (to reconciled transactions) since the reconciliation work was completed.
    5. “View report” link to open up a PDF of your reconciliation work.

 

It is helpful to review a reconciliation report as you will see:

 

  1. Checks, expenses and deposits that were cleared.
  2. Uncleared transactions.
  3. Summary of reconciliation report (at the top of the report)
